Sire moves in brief: news on Arakan and Proclamation

Proclamation, who defeated Soviet Song to win the Sussex Stakes in his racecourse pomp, is on the move to Longford House Stud in County Tipperary.

The 15-year-old son of King's Best is the third addition to the roster announced in recent weeks, after Air Chief Marshal and Fuisse.

Proclamation, who remains in the ownership of Godolphin, will stand in a jumps sire capacity. He formerly stood at Overbury and Girsonfield Stud in Britain, and his best offspring are the Flat Listed winner Frosty Berry and Grade 2-placed hurdler Chris Pea Green.

A fee will be announced at a later date.

Ballyhane bids au revoir to Arakan

Arakan, a stalwart of the Ballyhane Stud roster, has been transferred to the care of Frederique and Raphael Detouillon at their Haras de Longechaux in France.

The 17-year-old son of Nureyev has sired two Group 1 winners - Dick Turpin and Toormore - as well as the high-class pair Sruthan and Trumpet Major.

He has also been a popular choice of National Hunt breeders over the years and is responsible for the smart jumpers Bridgets Pet and Vosne Romanee.

Arakan's fee at Longechaux has been set at €2,700.

Mustajeeb move delayed

Young Overbury Stud sire Mustajeeb, whose transfer to Bush Hill Stud in South Africa was announced earlier this year, will now not arrive at his new home until the 2018 southern-hemisphere breeding season.

Warwick Render of Bush Hill Stud said: "Mustajeeb was prepared for export while we worked with the authorities to try and overcome stumbling blocks in our import protocols. Unfortunately this was not successful."

The six-year-old son of Nayef reportedly had a full book of mares waiting for him in South Africa but will now cover another season in the northern hemisphere before making the journey.
