Power switched to Oaklands Stud in Queensland
Power, the National Stakes and Irish 2,000 Guineas scorer, has been relocated from the recently sold Cambridge Stud in New Zealand to Oaklands Stud in Queensland, where he will remain for the 2018 breeding season.
The nine-year-old son of Oasis Dream stood for five seasons at Coolmore Stud in County Tipperary and has supplied five stakes winners to date, including Group 2-winning sprinter Gift Of Power in New Zealand and the Anglesey Stakes scorer and Prix Morny third Peace Envoy, who now stands at Worsall Grange Stud in North Yorkshire.
Power was the leading first-season sire in New Zealand during the 2016-17 season.
"We are delighted to be able to secure such a world-class galloper and exciting young sire to stand in Queensland," Stewart told ANZ Bloodstock News.
"Power was a superstar two-year-old in Europe who trained on to be a Classic winner at three. He only raced nine times for five wins and two runner-up placings."
The deal was brokered by Magic Millions, with Power to command an A$11,000 fee this year.
