It's a slam dunk in the Prix de la Foret for Justify's daughter Ramatuelle
"I love that filly," exclaimed an overjoyed Christopher Head after watching Ramtuelle soar to new heights with a dazzling victory over Kinross on the Prix de la Foret, the final Group 1 of a star-studded weekend at Longchamp.
The three-year-old's victory made her the seventh individual Group/Grade 1 winner from the first two crops of the unbeaten Triple Crown hero Justify, a list that is headed by City Of Troy.
Speaking on Sky Sports Racing, Head was thrilled with the success of the filly, whose owners include NBA star Tony Parker.
Head said: "She really deserved that crown today and I am so happy that she got it and now we will be able to go to the Breeders' Cup but wow! Wow! Did you see that? That was mad!"
Ramatuelle was making her first start since finishing third behind Porta Fortuna and Opera Singer – another of Justify's Group 1 winners – in Royal Ascot's Coronation Stakes, a race that was dominated by granddaughters of Scat Daddy.
Previously she had filled the same position behind Elmalka and Porta Fortuna and ahead of Saturday's Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes winner Tamfana in the 1,000 Guineas, and Head recalled the similar burst of acceleration she displayed on the Rowley Mile back in May.
"She already did that in the Guineas at the beginning of the season, she is going to do even better next year," he said. "She is looking like she is getting better and better with time. All the horses that she has beaten today, it's crazy."
Bred by Yeguada Centurion, Ramatuelle had finished a close second to Vandeek in the Prix Morny last season and won the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin and Group 3 Prix du Bois.
Ramatuelle is the first foal out of the Raven's Pass mare Raven's Lady, who won the Group 2 Goldene Peitsche and the Group 3 Summer Stakes for Marco Botti.
Ramatuelle's second dam, Pivotal Lady, is a winning Pivotal half-sister to the Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan winner Best Of The Bests and to Dunhill Star, placed in the Dante and Feilden Stakes.
She is also a half-sister to the dam of multiple Group winner and Melbourne Cup third Prince Of Arran and out of the Fred Darling winner and Nassau Stakes runner up Sueboog, by Darshaan.
Raven's Lady was bought by Yeguada Centurion for $300,000 at Keeneland November and her first foal was sold for €100,000 at Arqana's August Yearling Sale by Haras de l'Hotellerie to Arthur Hoyeau, Monceaux, Hollymount Stud and partners.
Raven's Lady has a two-year-old son of Uncle Mo named Tito Mo Cen, who was retained by his owner-breeder and is in training with Victoria Head, the sister of Ramatuelle's trainer Christopher.
Yeguada Centurion has also retained the Lope De Vega yearling colt out of Raven's Lady and he has been named Mr Lope Cen.
