Pillar Coral - a half-brother to popular jumps sires Coastal Path and Martaline and a brother to Reefscape - is to join the roster at Michael Shefflin's Annshoon Stud in County Kilkenny, where he will be offered to breeders at a fee of €2,500 next year, with the opportunity to purchase breeding rights.

The three-year-old son of Zamindar was in the care of Sir Michael Stoute but was unraced due to injury.

"Breeders who see him will not be disappointed. He's a fine horse, 16.2 hands and is still only a three-year-old," said Michael Shefflin of Annshoon Stud.

"His half-brother Martaline is one of the most sought-after jumps sires in Europe and breeders availing of this fellow will be able to avoid travelling over to France."

Martaline's progeny proved all the rage during Sunday's session of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale, with Henrietta Knight going to €75,000 to secure a gelding by the Haras de Montaigu sire from John Dwan's Ballyreddin Stud.

Martaline continued to supply top-class jumps horses in 2017, with Agrapart running to a Racing Post Rating of 158 when winning the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

Coastal Path has been responsible for dual Grade 1 novice hurdle winner Bacardys, while Reefscape supplied Grade 1 juvenile hurdle winner L'Unique from few foals due to subfertility.

The siblings were bred by Khalid Abdullah out of the winning Sadler's Wells mare Coraline, a half-sister to Irish Oaks scorer Wemyss Bight, the dam of another top jumps sire in Beat Hollow.

Pillar Coral is one of three new recruits at Annshoon Stud along with Koropick and Silver Galaxy, with Masterofthehorse completing the four-strong roster.
