The Haras de Montaigu-bound Nietzsche Has made the perfect ending to his racing career when landing the Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow with ease.

A son of the high-flying Zarak, the colt has been the model of consistency for trainer Marcel Rolland, capturing Grade 3 and Listed hurdle successes at Auteuil last April and May before placing twice at the track this autumn and winter, including when second in the Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres.

Sent off the 11-10 favourite in the Grade 2 contest at Chepstow on Friday, the three-year-old came home in the fog eight lengths clear of Marche D'Aligre, a 13-length winner at Wetherby the time before.

Nietzsche Has was bought through Guy Petit for €240,000 as a two-year-old at Arqana:

Edward James, who owns the horse and races him under his Highbourne Stud banner, told ITV Racing shortly before the start of the race: "He was such a nice horse, a really nice specimen and his pedigree did it for me.

"He’s going to stud, this will be his last race and in January he’s going to Haras de Montaigu in France, where he’ll stand."

Nietzsche Has will begin his second career at Montaigu at an opening fee of €7,000, where he will join No Risk At All, Flintshire, Cloth Of Stars, Dschingis Secret and Beaumec De Houelle.

He is the sixth foal out of the Martaline mare Nice To Meet You and is a half-brother to Niko Has, a dual Listed winner over fences.
