Havana Grey breeding right tops Tattersalls Online January Sale catalogue
A breeding right to Havana Grey headlines the catalogue for the Tattersalls Online January Sale, which takes place from January 14-15.
The first sale of the year features 64 horses in and out of training, 22 broodmares, five yearlings, three stores as well as breeding rights to Ardad, Harry Angel, Havana Grey and Kameko.
Whitsbury Manor Stud's Havana Grey is the sire of 37 stakes performers from his first three crops, headed by 11 Group winners. Heading that pack is Middle Park and Prix Morny winner Vandeek, July Stakes winner Jasour and Group winner and top-level-placed Shouldvebeenaring.
Another exciting young sire in Kameko also presents an exciting opportunity here. Tweenhills' 2,000 Guineas and Futurity Trophy winner made quite the impression with his first juveniles last year, among them Summer Stakes winner New Century and Royal Lodge Stakes victor Wimbledon Hawkeye who was also third in the Futurity Trophy.
A highlight of the horses in training is last-start maiden winner Well Enough, consigned by H.K. Racing. The three-year-old colt by Cotai Glory caught the eye when finishing fourth on debut last month and backed that up 12 days later when scoring by three quarters of a length over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton. He hails from the family of Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Indian Haven.
Among the broodmares catalogued is Miss Bates, a half-sister to leading two-year-old Arizona Blaze in foal to Far Above, Climene, a Frankel half-sister to Mqse De Sevigne in foal to Space Blues, the Grade 2-placed hurdler Kalahari Queen, who is in foal to Subjectivist, and Hit The Bottle, also in foal to Subjectivist.
The five yearlings catalogued are by sires including Ghaiyyath, Harry Angel and Ocovango while three stores in the sale include a duo by Dink and a four-year-old filly by Poet's Word.
Details of all lots as well as consignor contact information can be found on the Tattersalls Online website.
