The Group 1 Prix Jean Prat winner Laws Of Indices has had his first mares scanned in foal having commenced his stallion career at the Walsh family's Kiltown Stud in County Kilkeny earlier in the year.

Part-owner Fearghal Hogan has reported the multiple Group 1-placed son of Power to have excellent fertility and said the stallion will receive strong support from his owners.

"All of us involved in Laws Of Indices are breeders and have mares of our own so we will be sending him plenty [of mares] and he has lots booked in already," said Hogan.

The seven-year-old was trained in Ireland by Ken Condon for a syndicate which included Hogan, Walsh and Charlotte Holmes and defeated Lucky Vega to win the Group 2 Railway Stakes and was also third behind Sealiway and Nando Parrado in the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere as a juvenile.

He ran five times at three, with his best performance coming in the Prix Jean Prat after which a stake in Laws Of Indices was acquired by Australian interests including Aquis Farm and he was relocated to Annabel Neasham's Sydney stable.

"There are five of us in a syndicate and we buy yearlings to trade. We had him in training with Ken and we sold half of him after he won the Group 1 but he was always a horse very close to our hearts and we wanted to bring him back home to stand here in Ireland," Hogan said.

His best performance was when third behind Hong Kong superstars California Spangle and Golden Sixty in the Hong Kong Mile, earning him his highest Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 121.

For Neasham, he was also second in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap and third in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes. He retired with record of three wins and five places from 31 starts.

Bred by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) chairman Nicky Hartery, he was bought by Dermot Farrington for €8,000 from Rathasker Stud at the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale and is the best of five winners from six runners out of Sampers, a three-time winning daughter of Exceed And Excel.

Laws Of Indices is a half-brother to Inca Husky, a daughter of Kodiac and the dam of the Listed Criterium de Vitesse runner-up Disillusion by Profitable.

His fee is available on application.
