Grade 2 winner Ballyshannon Rose to be sold on Goffs Online later this month
Daughter of Doyen won six times for Paul Fahey and James and AP Hughes
Grade 2-winning chaser Ballyshannon Rose will be sold on Goffs Online on January 27, the sales company announced in a press release on Tuesday.
A six-time winner for Paul Fahey in her 24-race career, the daughter of Doyen's finest moment came when landing the Grade 2 Coolmore N.H. Sires Mogul Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase at Thurles in January 2022 for owners James and AP Hughes.
Bred by Pat O'Reilly, the high-class Ballyshannon Rose was placed several further times in black type company, while she also won four times over hurdles.
She has the pedigree to go with her race record, being a half-sister to the ill-fated Grade 1 Betway Mersey Novices' Hurdle winner and Grade 1 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle second Three Stripe Life. The pair are out of the winning bumper performer Hirayna, a daughter of Doyoun from the family of Prix Vermeille winner Highest Hopes.
Ballyshannon Rose will be sold in a timed online auction that begins at 11am and closes at 1pm later this month. The ten-year-old will be consigned by Ballyshannon Stud, with photos, videos, race replays, pedigree and veterinary information now available online.
Goffs Group chief executive Henry Beeby said: “We are delighted to offer Ballyshannon Rose for sale on our proven online platform and are grateful to her connections for choosing Goffs.
"Goffs is the market leading destination for the sale of quality National Hunt breeding stock, headed recently by a world record price for the highest priced National Hunt mare ever, numerous six-figure sales including the top-priced mare of 2022 at the December National Hunt Sale, and sales of up to £340,000 online for National Hunt mares.
He continued: "Ballyshannon Rose is a top quality prospect and we look forward to offering breeders the opportunity to secure another blue-blooded jumps mare online with Goffs."
Registrations to bid will open this Friday.
