Grade 1 winners Marie's Rock and Brandy Love set for a date in the ring at Goffs December National Hunt Sale
Recently retired Grade 1 star Marie's Rock is set to be among the star attractions of the Goffs December National Hunt Sale.
Bred by Dan and Elaine Breen and racing for Middleham Park, the daughter of Milan had a glittering 2022 in particular, which included the Mares' Hurdle in 2022 and was closely followed by the Irish Mares Champion Hurdle at Punchestown.
Marie's Rock was retired only last month and will be joined at this sale by another Grade 1 winner, the Willie Mullins-trained Brandy Love. The full catalogue will be revealed next week for a sale which takes place between December 9 and 11.
The pair are supported by Grade 2 winners Harmonya Maker and Ifyoucatchmenow and Listed winners Liberty Dance, Ardera Ru and Thursday’s Clonmel Listed chase winner Pink In The Park. With sisters to I Am Maximus, Appreciate It, Hillcrest, Pied Piper, Athena Du Berlais and Kalashnikov in the sale, there is plenty to consider among foals and breeding stock.
Goffs will also be offering foals out of top-class race mares Shattered Love, Glen’s Melody and Cabaret Queen and siblings to Slade Steel, Minella Cocooner, Hewick, Briar Hill, Pinkerton and Apple Away as well as close relations to Minella Times, Sizing John, Glencove Marina, Shishkin, L’ Ami Serge, Ballabriggs, Yorkhill, Envoi Allen, Wicklow Brave and Outlander.
The breeding stock, which will be offered at the conclusion of the sale, has over 60 catalogued, 20 of which are black type performers themselves.
Goffs group chief executive Henry Beeby said: "The December NH sale has proved one of the great success stories for Goffs in recent years with a catalogue that has become the first choice for so many National Hunt breeders these days.
"We are thrilled with the quality of the both the foals and mares sections and grateful to every vendor for choosing Goffs. We can’t wait to welcome buyers and sellers to Kildare Paddocks next month."
