Goffs UK to host Tattersalls Ireland stores as sales houses come together
A number of Land Rover stores also added to Doncaster Summer Sale
The Goffs UK Summer Sale will feature 64 additional entries from the Tattersalls Ireland Derby and May Store Sales and Goffs Land Rover Sale, following on from the revision of the store sale schedule this week.
An additional day has been added to the Summer Sale in Doncaster on Monday, July 27, to allow the Goffs UK-catalogued stores to be sold in their original slots.
The new lots were confined to British-domiciled stores from either Irish catalogue, as well as a very limited number from Tattersalls Ireland vendors with major logistical difficulties associated with the proximity of the Flat yearling sales.
Among the regally bred youngsters is a Walk In The Park gelding who is the first foal out of the Grade 1 mares novice hurdle winner Bitofapuzzle (lot 616) and another gelding by the same sire (627) who is a half-brother to the multiple Grade 1 winner Bellshill.
The pair are consigned by Ballincurrig House Stud and Baroda Stud respectively and had originally been due to go under the hammer at Fairyhouse.
Another rerouted from the Derby Sale is the Martaline full-brother to the Albert Bartlett Spa Novices' Hurdle scorer Very Wood (615), who will be offered by Mark Dwyer's Oaks Farm Stables.
Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: "This year continues to present challenges to us all but it has been a big positive to see our industry come together and collaborate for the greater good.
"It is in that spirit that we are pleased to welcome stores from the Tattersalls Ireland Derby and May Store Sales to Doncaster which will sell alongside our original Spring Sale stores and a small number of UK-based Land Rover Sale lots.
"Goffs have already demonstrated the strengths of working with others for the best outcome and there is no better advert for this approach than the success of the combined Goffs Arqana Breeze-Up Sale at Doncaster earlier this month.
"We are confident we can follow that success with our Summer Sale on July 27-29 and have some outstanding stores to offer from our original Spring Sale stores together with this new supplementary session."
Tattersalls Ireland chief executive Matt Mitchell said: "By working together with Goffs during these challenging times, it has been pleasing to be now in a position to offer a platform for vendors to sell stores that were originally catalogued in the Derby Sale and May Store Sale.
"The coming together of Tattersalls Ireland and Goffs ensures trade continues within our industry which has faced extraordinary disruption due to the pandemic.
"We will maximise our efforts to ensure the Derby and May Store Sales on August 18-20 are a success by ensuring that purchasers have confidence in making their decisions irrespective of their ability to attend the sales."
