Goffs UK and Yorton to hold another P2P auction following November Sale success
Douvan's full-brother Jonbon sold for a record-breaking £570,000
Goffs UK have announced that another point-to-point sale will take place at Yorton Farm next month following the success of the November Point-to-Point Sale last week.
The November auction at the picturesque stud near Welshpool saw Douvan's full-brother Jonbon sell to JP McManus for a record-breaking £570,000 and achieve a clearance rate of 75 per cent. The second sale will take place on Thursday, December 17.
Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: "The initial P2P Sale at Yorton was a huge success and we're incredibly grateful to the Potter and Futter families who enabled the sale to take place.
"The location of Yorton Farm Stud and the facilities available to vendors and purchasers were universally praised, and it quickly became obvious that our clients wanted more of the same.
"We received strong feedback from vendors that they wanted to sell at a traditional sale held at a proven National Hunt venue and offer horses to a UK market, so it made sense to add another date to enable this sector to continue to trade their horses during this busy autumn period."
Kent added: "We were delighted to sell six horses for £100,000 or more and we look forward to working with vendors to create a similar market at Yorton next month.’’
Goffs will not include a point-to-point section in the Horses in Training Sale on December 4, in order to avoid any potential clashes for vendors and purchasers.
