Goffs UK HIT sale in Doncaster next week gets green light despite Covid-19 scare
Recent spike in cases will not derail auction but stricter protocols will exist
The Goffs UK September HIT Sale goes ahead at Doncaster on Tuesday as planned, the company has stated.
Having consulted with Doncaster Council following recent changes to the UK government’s Covid-19 policy, Goffs UK were able to confirm the sale will take place, though with participants required to strictly follow the enhanced set of protocols which have been approved to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors to the sales complex.
The Doncaster September HIT Sale will offer two unreserved dispersals from Trevor Hemmings’ Gleadhill House Stud and Gigginstown House Stud, along with large drafts from the likes of Godolphin and Gordon Elliott.

There have been seven supplementary lots, which include recent Flat winner Soaring Monarch (Lot 145), Dave And Bernie (Lot 146), whose last three Class 3 hurdle starts have netted a win and two placings, Wigglesworth (Lot 147) who placed second on his hurdle debut last month, and point-to-point winners Staithes (Lot 179A) and Beyondapproach (Lot 304).
To ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees, Goffs will follow all government Covid-19 directives in place at the time of the sale, and the company stress the following:
- Full sale Covid-19 protocols can be .
- Entry to the sales complex will be strictly limited. Those planning to attend must pre-register and complete the on the Goffs UK website.
- Entry to the sales complex will be granted only to those that have pre-registered and received confirmation from Goffs UK.
- Face masks must be worn at all times at the Goffs UK sales complex, both indoors and outdoors.
- Goffs UK will refuse entry to anyone that is not registered and/or shows any symptoms of Covid-19 including an elevated temperature.
- Goffs UK will refuse entry to anyone who does not or refuses to abide by the sale protocols in full.
- All attendees must bring and use their own PPE (this includes instructing all staff accordingly).
- Goffs UK will not have any cash on site. All payments (including catering) must be made by card, while grooms' fees, inward buyer subsidies etc will all be paid electronically.
