Fresh air and foals: a virtual trip behind the gates of Whitsbury Manor Stud
Ed Harper shows us some of the stock at the Hampshire operation
As we all stay at home to save lives during the coronavirus pandemic, we are giving you a glimpse behind the gates of some of Britain's most prestigious stud farms in association with Great British Racing International.
In our first video, Whitsbury Manor Stud director Ed Harper shows us Bird Key, a daughter of the Hampshire operation's late stalwart sire Cadeaux Genereux who is the dam of sprint ace Tasleet and exciting three-year-old filly Lady Light.
He also presents a yearling by the farm's current star stallion Showcasing and a foal from the first crop of Group 1-winning sprinter Havana Grey, and we also get to meet the exciting young sire Due Diligence, who made a fine start with his first two-year-olds in 2019.
The videos have been posted on the GBRI Twitter account individually all week. Starting from Monday, April 13, Highclere Stud will be showing off some of their blue-chip stock.
Thanks to Ed for filming the videos while adhering to government rules on social isolation on the farm, and for giving the rest of us a breath of fresh country air during lockdown!
