Fittocks Stud has teamed up with Old Gold Racing to launch an exciting ownership opportunity, offering 200 shares in a St Mark’s Basilica filly out of the Darley-bred Shamardal mare Umniya.

At £299 per share and no additional fees for a 12-month term, members will get a share of 80 per cent of prize-money won and 20 per cent of the sale proceeds of the racehorse should she be sold during the two-year syndicate period.

Members will also enjoy exclusive experiences throughout the year, including: two visits to Fittocks Stud, hosted by Luca and Sara Cumani, a stable visit to Ed Walker's yard, where the horse will be trained, weekly trainer’s updates on the filly’s progress and monthly insights from Francesca Cumani.

A first-crop daughter of Coolmore's first-season sire and world champion three-year-old, who also won the Dewhurst at two, this filly is out of a mare who is a sister to dual Group winner Dubai Prince and a half-sister to two further black-type performers. It is the further family of Champion Stakes winner Storming Home

Umniya has bred three winners so far headed by Kingman filly Troia, last seen finishing a promising fourth in the Oh So Sharp Stakes after a debut score at Newbury.

Ed Seyfried, CEO of Old Gold Racing, said: "I’m so excited to be teaming up with Fittocks Stud for this new venture and to be giving Old Gold Racing members the opportunity to get right in behind the scenes of one of the premier breeding establishments in the world.

"We see the Fittocks Stud Racing Syndicate as a fantastic gateway for people to get involved in racehorse ownership at a very high level for a lower cost, and this filly has got such a promising future ahead of her. There’s every chance she could go right to the top given her pedigree."

Sara Cumani of Fittocks Stud added: "This filly is beautifully bred and a very exciting prospect for Fittocks Stud. Her dam, Umniya, has had three winners from five of her progeny of racing age, including a half-sister, Troia, who was going places for Ed Walker last season.

"We’ve always thought this filly was a nice type. She’s a nice walker, very attractive and correct, and is by an exciting first-season sire in St Mark’s Basilica, who was a top-class racehorse.

"There’s every reason to believe she’ll be an exciting prospect as a two-year-old and we’re delighted to be in partnership with the team at Old Gold Racing."
