First Pattern winner for Anodin as Anodor lands Prix des Chenes
Two-year-old colt made all before scorching clear of his rivals
Anodor looks to have booked his ticket to the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day after the Anodin colt won the mile Group 3 Prix des Chenes for two-year-old colts and geldings at Longchamp on Sunday.
The winner, who made all before scorching clear of his six rivals, became the first Pattern winner and second stakes winner for Anodin, whose daughter Harmless won the 7f Listed Prix Roland de Chambure at Longchamp.
Anodor is now two from two having won a Deauville maiden by two lengths in July and looks a worthy candidate for the mile Group 1 in October.
Anodin set to continue family success with promising start at stud
Bred by Ian Fair, Anodor went unsold when offered by Haras du Quesnay - where Anodin stands - at the Arqana v2 Yearling Sale.
Fair has enjoyed considerable success with this family, having also bred the likes of Aladdine and Gallic Chieftain, who share their granddam with Anodor's own dam Decize.
He also bred Trouble Of Course, a Group 3 winner in Norway last year who, like Anodor, counts Group 2 Prix d'Astarte winner Navratilovna as his fourth dam.
Anodin is the second son of Anabaa to supply a winner of the Prix des Chenes with Anabaa Blue having sired the 2006 winner Spirit One.
Yearlings by the Haras du Quesnay stallion have proved a hit at this year's sales, where he was responsible for session-toppers at Arqana's v2 Sale and the Osarus Yearling Sale.
The eight-year-old Anodin placed five times at the highest level and posted a Racing Post Rating of 119 on three occasions, including when second to Karakontie in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
