Etreham and Cambridge Stud team up to acquire Hello Youmzain
Sprint Cup hero will race on at four and take up stud duties in 2021
Hello Youmzain - who led from start to finish when winning this year's Haydock Sprint Cup - has changed ownership, with Haras d'Etreham and Cambridge Stud joining forces to acquire the exciting sprinter.
Despite the two studs having previously partnered on the stud career of European champion three-year-old and sire Almanzor, who is now standing his second season at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand, Hello Youmzain will remain in training with Kevin Ryan at four before beginning his stud career in France in 2021.
Hubie de Burgh of Deburgh Equine completed the deal to acquire the three-year-old colt, who was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and raced in the earlier part of his career by Jaber Abdullah.
"This is a sprinter of great talent who will be even stronger at four," Ryan told Jour de Galop.
"This year he proved to be a real star. We are likely to run Hello Youmzain in the Qipco British Champions Sprint, which will be a thrilling starting point for this new association."
Hello Youmzain is among four Group 1 winners for Kodiac along with middle-distance star Best Solution and Cheveley Park Stakes heroines Fairyland and Tiggy Wiggy.
Having broken his duck in a Carlisle maiden in August of his two-year-old season, Hello Youmzain progressed to win the Group 2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte on his third juvenile start.
He captured the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes on his second start as a three-year-old, before running Advertise to within two lengths on his first start at the highest level in the Commonwealth Cup, ahead of his most recent run in the Sprint Cup.
"We're delighted to be associated in the career of this high-class sprinter," Nicolas de Chambure of Haras d'Etreham told Jour de Galop.
"He'll be a remarkable recruit for our yard of stallions and for French breeders. He is a very beautiful specimen, powerful and a very good mover. Kevin Ryan has done a great job with him and we are hoping for a great season next year.
"We're delighted to renew our association with Cambridge Stud and we will also have other partners like SF Bloodstock and Voltaire Stud."
Also speaking to Jour de Galop, Henry Plumptre of Cambridge Stud said: "We're really excited to be part of this project. We think Hello Youmzain has the perfect profile to succeed in Australia and New Zealand. His pedigree is enhanced by the presence of Danehill, Invincible Spirit and Shamardal, three of the most influential stallions of our time."
