Dubawi and Galileo colts head December Yearling Sale catalogue
Auction on November 25 will comprise of 200 lots
A Dubawi colt out of Irish St Leger winner Voleuse De Coeurs and a Galileo colt out of the regally bred Sent From Heaven have arguably the choicest pedigrees set to be offered at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale on November 25, after the 200-strong catalogue was published on Friday.
The catalogue includes own or half brothers and sisters to seven Group 1 winners, 42 Group and Listed winners and 25 yearlings out of Group- or Listed-winning mares.
No fewer than 17 of the current top 20 sires in Britain and Ireland have yearlings catalogued, with two offerings by Frankel - whose tally of Group 1 winners rose from five to ten during the latest season - and a further trio of lots by Sea The Stars, whose daughter Star Catcher landed the Fillies and Mares Stakes on British Champions Day at Ascot.
Other proven Group 1 sires with progeny in the sale include Acclamation, Australia, Bated Breath, Camelot, Dansili, Dark Angel, Exceed And Excel, Farhh, Invincible Spirit, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, Oasis Dream, Showcasing, Starspangledbanner, Teofilo and Zoffany.
There are plenty of yearlings on offer from first- and second-season sires including Australia, Cable Bay, Gleneagles, Golden Horn, Make Believe, Muhaarar, Night Of Thunder, No Nay Never and Sea The Moon, while US- and French-based sires include Kitten's Joy, Le Havre, Siyouni and Wootton Bassett.
The largest consignment comes from The Castlebridge Consignment with 22 yearlings, followed by Cheveley Park Stud, Newsells Park Stud and Skyline Thoroughbreds, who all have seven yearlings in their drafts. Among their consignments are yearlings by first-crop sires Air Force Blue, Pride Of Dubai, Shalaa and Territories.
Other first-crop sires with yearlings catalogued include Awtaad, Estidhkaar, Fascinating Rock, Harzand, Kodi Bear and Mehmas.
Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "The Tattersalls December Yearling Sale is a consistent source of top-class performers, and Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan winner Zabeel Prince and Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Royal Dornoch are evidence of the quality on offer.
"The vast majority of the leading British and Irish sires have yearlings catalogued, and owners and trainers will undoubtedly be drawn towards the large number of yearlings qualified for lucrative Tattersalls bonuses or valuable sales races."
Buyers looking for such incentives will not be short of choice, with the catalogue featuring 14 yearlings eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus Scheme, 17 eligible for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, two eligible for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes, one eligible for French Owners' Premiums and 91 eligible for Plus 10 Bonuses.
