Dual Group 3 winner Wells Farhh Go to join Norton Grove Stud
Norton Grove Stud has announced the acquisition of a new stallion in Wells Farhh Go, a son of Farhh whose career highlights came with wins in the Group 3 Acomb and Bahrain Trophy Stakes.
Bred by Maria Marron, the eight-year-old sold to Howson and Houldsworth Bloodstock for €16,000 at the Goffs November Foal Sale before making 16,000gns to Tim Easterby at Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale the following year.
Wells Farhh Go won both his starts as a two-year-old, most notably the Acomb at York, where he defeated subsequent Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner and Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest second James Garfield by a nose. Also behind him that day were subsequent multiple Australian Group 1 winner Zaaki and high-class stayer Dee Ex Bee.
He won the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket on his third start at three, and was also fourth to Old Persian in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes, while he was a four-length winner of the Listed Fred Archer Stakes - also on Newmarket's July course - on his first start at four.
Wells Farhh Go is the sixth foal out of the winning Galileo mare Mowazana, from the family of multiple Group 1 middle-distance winner and Breeders' Cup Classic second Ibn Bey. He is a half-brother to a number of winners, both on the Flat and over jumps, including Hong Kong performer Happy Dragon.
