Doctor Dino nomination auctioned for UNICEF Ukraine Appeal

All proceeds from the sale during Auctav's March auction will go to the charity

The Doctor Dino syndicate will auction a nomination to France's leading National Hunt stallion through Auctav next week with all the proceeds donated to UNICEF's Ukraine Appeal.

Appearing as Lot 0 in the online auction, which takes place between 6pm and 7pm local time on Wednesday, March 30, the nomination is for either the 2022 or 2023 breeding season and is for a thoroughbred or AQPS mare aged under 15.

Doctor Dino stands at Haras du Mesnil for a fee of €20,000 excluding VAT and is the sire of five individual Grade 1 winners headed by Louisa Carberry's dual Grand Steeplechase de Paris victor Docteur De Ballon. At last week's Cheltenham Festival the son of Muhtathir sired County Hurdle winner Arret Station and Fil D'Or who was runner-up in the Triumph Hurdle.

Auctav has waived agency fees for the successful bidder and Derby Assurance and HDI Global Speciality will offer insurance for the foal from 42 days of gestation to eight days after birth for a value of €10,000.

The sale is an unconditional one and payable by the purchaser upon receipt of the invoice.

There are 13 lots in total in the catalogue for Auctav's March Sale which is a mixture of thoroughbred and trotting horses. Francois Nicolle has Icare Grandchamp, who was second on debut a little over a week ago.

The four-year-old Kapgarde gelding is a brother to Grade 3 winner and triple Grade 1-placed Dalia Grandchamp and a half-brother to Poly Grandchamp, who won this season's Grade 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin for Nicolle.
