Deep Impact's Pattern-winning son Geniale to stand at Gestut Lindenhof

Geniale will become the first son of Deep Impact to stand in Europe when he takes up residence at Gestut Lindenhof.

Trained by Pascal Bary for owner Masaaki Matsushima, Geniale showed his best form as a four-year-old when landing the Group 3 Prix Messidor over the straight mile at Maisons-Laffitte.

The six-year-old entire was bred by Shadai Farm in Japan from its late multiple champion sire Deep Impact and out of the French Oaks heroine Sarafina.

Her other two runners by Deep Impact have also achieved black type, with the three-year-old filly Savarin successful in the mile Prix d'Aumale at Longchamp in September, and the four-year-old Go Timing having placed in a valuable Graded handicap in Japan.

Deep Impact has multiple sons at stud in Europe led by Classic scorers Saxon Warrior and Study Of Man, while Albert Dock, Barocci and Martinborough are also stationed across Europe.

Geniale will stand alongside German St Leger scorer Liquido and Group 2 winner Red Jazz at Lindenhof, where he will be offered to breeders at a €5,000 fee.
