Darley trio Blue Point, Masar and Too Darn Hot have mares scanned in foal
The Group 1-winning newcomers have cleared their first hurdle at stud
Darley’s three new European recruits for 2020 have all successfully covered their first mares, with positive scans for Blue Point, Masar and Too Darn Hot.
Blue Point, who stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €45,000, retired as a four-time Group 1 winner and the only horse ever to win three Group 1 sprint contests at Royal Ascot.
The son of Kildangan stalwart Shamardal also won the Al Quoz Sprint last year and the Gimcrack Stakes at two. He was crowned 2019 Cartier champion sprinter.
Masar became the first horse to carry the Godolphin silks to victory in the Derby. The son of New Approach was also a talented two-year-old who won the Solario Stakes and ran third in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.
Masar now stands alongside his sire at Dalham Hall Stud, at a fee of £15,000.
Another horse to stand in the same stallion yard as his own sire is Too Darn Hot, a son of the prolific Dubawi.
Too Darn Hot was the unbeaten European champion two-year-old, rounding off a superb campaign with victory in the Dewhurst.
He added two further top-flight wins to his record at three in the Prix Jean Prat and Sussex Stakes and stands at Dalham Hall at a fee of £50,000.
