Dam of Sun Chariot Stakes winner Tamfana to sell at Arqana's Vente d'Elevage
Tres Magnifique, the dam of recent Sun Chariot Stakes winner Tamfana, will be offered at Arqana's Vente d'Elevage in December.
Consigned by Gestut Etzean, the Zoffany mare will go under the hammer during the first evening of the sale, December 7. She is in foal to the late Soldier Hollow, meaning she is carrying a full-sibling to Tamfana.
Tamfana struck at Group 1 level for the first time when denying Inspiral at Newmarket earlier this month, while she was unlucky in running when fourth in the 1,000 Guineas this spring. Also a three-quarter-length third in the Prix de Diane, Tamfana had won her first Group race in the Prix Miesque at Chantilly last October. She had also landed the Atalanta Stakes by an easy two and three-quarter lengths over subsequent stakes winner Doha, a daughter of Sea The Stars and Treve.
Another of Tres Magnifique's daughters, the two-year-old The Palace Girl, by Areion, had finished an excellent second on debut to the exciting Giselle at the Curragh, on the same afternoon as Tamfana's Newmarket success.
Tres Magnifique is out of the Sholokhov mare Ticana, a sister to the sire of Galopin Des Champs in Timos and half-sister to Sea Calisi, a winner of the Beverly D. Stakes. She is also related to dual Group 3 scorer Tareno.
The sale takes place from December 7-10, while the catalogue will be available on Monday.
