Cotai Glory's first-born is a filly with 'loads of bone'
The first reported foal for Tally-Ho Stud stallion Cotai Glory is a filly out of the Listed-placed Diamond Green mare Strange Magic born on Sunday.
The new arrival was bred by Gortskagh House Stud and the operation's John Foley said: “I'm very pleased with her. She has loads of bone and is a lovely shape.”
A son of increasingly influential sire of sires Exceed And Excel, Cotai Glory won the Molecomb Stakes at two and had the Flying Childers Stakes at his mercy but unseated his rider George Baker just before the line.
He developed into a high-class sprinter, notching a Group 3 victory over the minimum trip at Newbury and finishing a neck second to Profitable in the King's Stand Stakes aged four, and running third to no less than Marsha and Lady Aurelia in the Nunthorpe at five.
Cotai Glory covered 180 mares in his first season at Tally-Ho Stud last year, and he is set to embark on his second book at a fee of €5,000 at the County Westmeath operation in the coming months.
