Coronation Cup winner Pether's Moon sires first winner at Auteuil
The son of Dylan Thomas stands at Yorton Farm Stud in Wales
Coronation Cup hero Pether's Moon got his stallion career off the mark when Anneloralas struck in a handicap hurdle at Auteuil last week.
The son of Dylan Thomas, a resident of David Futter's Yorton Farm Stud, struck in Listed company at three for Richard Hannon Snr before beating the 2012 St Leger winner Encke in the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood the following year.
He enjoyed his career highlight on his final start when defeating Sheema Classic winner Dolniya and the top-class Flintshire in a competitive renewal of the Coronation Cup at Epsom in 2015.
The British-bred Anneloralas was providing the stallion with a maiden success having finished second on her second start. Moise Ohana's three-year-old is from the first crop of Pether's Moon and is out of the unraced Kahyasi mare Loralas, a half-sister to the Listed-placed Detalasse.
Pether's Moon subsequently retired to stand at Yorton Farm in Welshpool, and covered 62 mares in his first season in 2016 with two black type winners and four black type-placed mares. He has had offspring sell to leading National Hunt trainers Willie Mullins, Dan Skelton and David Cottin.
He was sent 65 mares the following season and covered 38 this year from his Welsh base. The ten-year-old stands for a fee of £2,250.
