Clearance sale for late Pat Coffey's string to take place next Monday
29 horses will be for sale from his Boulagloss Stables
A clearance sale for the late trainer Pat Coffey's National Hunt horses and youngstock will take place on Monday at his Boulagloss Stables in Nenagh, County Tipperary.
Coffey, who was tragically killed in a horse and trap accident in October, was a highly respected and well-known face on the Irish point-to-point circuit. Viewings are available today on request from 11am to 3pm.
The 29 horses will be sold as they stand, while anyone wishing to vet can do so at their own expense.
Among the individuals on offer is winning point-to-point mare Ayleoola (lot 26), currently carrying to Beeches Stud sire Ocovango, a Soldier Of Fortune yearling colt (17) out of a full-sister to Grade 2 Aon Chase winner Tricky Trickster, plus a Gentlewave yearling colt (14) from the family of Topham Chase scorer Rajdhani Express.
Davy Russell, who partnered Saddlers Deal and That's A Fact to win at Huntingdon for Coffey, said of the late trainer: "He understood the game, he bought foals, he bought three-year-olds, he raced horses. He was a great man.”
The catalogue for the dispersal can be found here.
