Cheltenham Festival-winning dam among Flag Of Honour's first in foal mares
Irish St Leger-winning son of Galileo stands at the National Stud in Newmarket
Classic winner Flag Of Honour, a new addition to the stallion roster at the National Stud in Newmarket for the 2020 breeding season, has become the latest new sire to have his first mares scanned in foal.
The National Stud's nominations manager Joe Callan said: "Flag Of Honour has settled in very well to his new role and is proving a natural in the covering shed. It's very apt with the week ahead that one of his first mares scanned in foal is the dam of a Cheltenham Festival winner.
Flag Of Honour joins National Stud in dual-purpose role for 2020
"We are very grateful to his owner Mr Trevor Hemmings and for the support Flag Of Honour has received from great breeders in both the National Hunt and Flat spheres, we are very much looking forward to the future."
The Cheltenham Festival-winning dam is Wood Farm Stud’s Septembers Hawk, who produced Hawk High, winner of the 2014 Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle for Trevor Hemmings and Tim Easterby.
The second mare scanned in foal to Flag Of Honour is Wayne Clifford's Madame Rouge, a winning daughter of Major Cadeaux who shares her page with champion older miler Arod and the talented jumps performers Tornado Watch and Tornedo Shay.
Flag Of Honour, a son of Galileo whose five victories include success in the 2018 Irish St Leger, stands at a fee of £4,500.
