Caravaggio set to continue stud career at Shizunai Stallion Station in Japan

Multiple Group 1-winning sprinter and Group 1 sire Caravaggio will relocate from Coolmore's Ashford Stud and will now take up duties at the Shizunai Stallion Station in Japan.

The son of Scat Daddy, an unbeaten two-year-old and dual Group 1 winner for Aidan O'Brien and Coolmore, had stood at the team's Irish base for his first three years at stud before moving to Ashford ahead of the 2021 season.

The winner of the Commonwealth Cup, Phoenix Stakes and Coventry Stakes amid seven successes during racing, the now eight-year-old has been responsible for some fine performers in his second career.

These include 2021 Cheveley Park Stakes and this year's Prix Jean Prat scorer Tenebrism, German 2,000 Guineas victor and unlucky St James's Palace fourth Maljoom, Debutante Stakes winner Agartha and Snow Fairy Stakes victress Viareggio.

Caravaggio started his stallion career off a fee of €35,000, which was raised after two seasons to €40,000 in 2020.

He then stood his debut term in America for $25,000, which was raised to $35,000 this year.
