Brilliant broodmare Crystal Gaze records tenth winner from as many runners
Derby entry Tuscan Gaze maintained dam's perfect record with stylish debut
Derby entry Tuscan Gaze looks an exciting prospect for Lady Bamford and the Coolmore partners after making a stylish winning debut in division two of the 7f Heath Court Hotel EBF Novice Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.
Bred in partnership by Coolmore and Lady Bamford's Daylesford Stud, the John Gosden-trained son of Galileo needed only the lightest persuasion from Nicky Mackay as he pulled clear towards the finish.
What made the win all the more remarkable was the fact he became the tenth winner from as many runners for the Rainbow Quest mare Crystal Gaze, who has produced two offspring with a Racing Post Rating of 118 in Caspian Prince and Spirit Quartz, while her Frankel filly Tiger Eye earned a mark of 99.
The Dylan Thomas gelding Caspian Prince entered the annals of racing history after winning the Epsom Dash for three different trainers, while her Invincible Spirit son Spirit Quartz was also a classy sprinter winning the Group 2 Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly over the minimum distance.

Crystal Gaze also has a colt foal by Caravaggio
Contrary, her second foal by Mark Of Esteem, won in France for Eoghan O'Neill and has since gone on to produce the Irish 2,000 Guineas third Irishcorrespondent, who races as Exultant in Hong Kong where he is a three-time Group 1 winner.
A daughter of the Listed-placed El Gran Senor mare Jumilla, Crystal Gaze is a half-sister to two talented jumpers in the County Hurdle winner Desert Quest and the Grade 2 juvenile hurdle winner Stocktons Wing, as well as the UAE Listed winner Jonquil.
Her only offspring of racing age not to have raced is her six-year-old Holy Roman Emperor daughter To Shine, who has embarked on her own breeding career, while she also has a colt foal by Caravaggio.
