Breeders’ Cup hopefuls Mufasa, Gold Phoenix, Kilwin and Pandora’s Gift feature alongside talented stakes performers and stallion shares in Flightline and Cogburn for the inaugural Keeneland Championship Sale catalogue.

The event takes place at Keeneland on October 30, ahead of the Breeders' Cup at Del Mar on November 1-2.

Lots include a 50 per cent ownership interest in recent Vosburgh Stakes winner Mufasa, a leading contender for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, a 25 per cent interest in Grade 1 winner Gold Phoenix, a likely runner in the Breeders’ Cup Turf, and a 25 per cent interest in the undefeated Kilwin, a winner of the $1 million Untapable Stakes at Kentucky Downs and runner in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Others include Listed winner Pandora’s Gift, twice placed at Grade 2 level in America this term and a contender for either the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint or the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, plus She’s Got A Way, a stakes-placed half-sister to undefeated Japanese racing sensation Ecoro Sieg and among the favourites for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

There are also shares in Horse of The Year Flightline and Cogburn, who will make his final start in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint before retiring to WinStar Farm.

“Keeneland created the Championship Sale to be a fun, unique event that celebrates the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the sport, and we look forward to hosting a top-level experience,” Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin said. “We thank our owners and consignors for their enthusiastic support.”

“The star power of this catalogue, its quality and diversity will appeal to a wide variety of potential buyers,” Keeneland Vice President of Sales Tony Lacy added. “There’s a renewed interest in racing that is very encouraging, and the Championship Sale is a gateway for new investors as well as current owners to participate at the highest level.”

The sale starts at 6.30pm local time and the interactive catalogue features photos, videos, speed figures and more for each horse.
