Black-type winners and performers among wildcard entries for Arqana Arc Sale
Black-type winners Sacred Spirit, Rosa Salvaje and La Guapisima feature among five wildcard entries for Arqana's Arc Sale.
The sale, which features this year's German Derby hero Palladium among its initial entries, takes place at Saint-Cloud racecourse on October 5 after the opening day of racing at Longchamp.
This year's Listed Grand Prix de Lyon winner Sacred Spirit (lot 15) has a consistent profile, winning and placing in 12 of his 15 starts. The Wertheimer-owned Kingman gelding was second and third in the Group 3 Prix de Reux and Group 2 Grand Prix de Deauville after his stakes score.
He is out of Listed winner Sahrawi, by Pivotal, and the dam of multiple American Grade 1-placed Soldier Rising, by Frankel.
Another black-type winner to be added to the catalogue is Rosa Salvaje (29), a two-year-old by Ashford Stud's first-season sire Maximum Security. The two-year-old won on debut for Christopher Head and has twice placed in black-type company, including when third in the Group 3 Prix d'Aumale this month.
Niarchos homebred Supercooled (42) is another interesting addition as a multiple black-type-placed performer out of Group scorer Liquid Amber. The Lope De Vega colt has finished third in the Group 3 Prix Daphnis and Group 3 Prix du Prince d'Orange on his last two starts.
La Guapisima (43) has been another model of consistency, with the two-year-old City Light filly winning or placing in five of her six starts. She picked up bold black type in the Listed Prix des Jouvenceaux et Jouvencelles - Bernard Ferrand at Vichy in July.
The wildcards are completed by Chartwell (49), a triple winning son of Churchill who was recently second in the Group 3 Prix Gerald de Geoffre this month.
