Buyers have an 11-hour chance to acquire a runner in Europe's richest race when Kingman's son Chachnak is offered at Arqana's Arc Sale.

The event, which gets under way at 6.30pm local time at Saint-Cloud, amounts as an opportunity akin to that often available with the Goffs London Sale on the eve of Royal Ascot, and a number of high-class performers are on offer.

Chachnak (lot 21) has struck twice in Group 3 company this year for trainer Fabrice Vermeulen, including a narrow win in the Prix du Prince d'Orange at Longchamp last month.

The three-year-old must rate an attractive proposition as one of 15 declared runners for the €3 million Arc on Sunday, albeit he is a general 100-1 shot who would be tackling a mile and a half for the first time.

It is not the first time this has happened - the usually dependable and high-class Silverwave was bought for €500,000 at this sale in 2017 and ran in the Arc hours later but finished last behind Enable.

Another eyecatcher among the 22 lots after withdrawals is Poule d'Essai des Pouliches third Mageva (lot 14), a daughter of Wootton Bassett who won as a juvenile last year.

She added further black type to her laurels this year with a second in the Prix du Pont Neuf in May.

There are plenty of opportunities for buyers to snap up Pattern-class performers, and among such lots is the Group 3-winning Acclamation colt Pretreville (lot 17), valiant runner-up behind Kingman's other son bound for the Arc, the outstanding Persian King, in the Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud in June.

Among the German-trained horses on offer is Kalifornia Queen (lot 11), a Group 2-winning daughter of Lope De Vega trained by Henk Grewe. She landed the Group 2 Gestut Rottgen Diana Trial in May and was third in the Listed Brummerhof-Derby Trial.

Promising jumper Hercule Point (lot 29) was a late addition to the auction. The half-bred son of Network recently finished third in the Prix de Bourbonnais at Fontainebleau and is from the close family of Playing and Easy Game.

Former graduates of the sale include Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile winner Suedois, who was sourced in 2015 by Nick Bradley and Jason Kelly for €165,000, and Prix d'Aumale scorer Toulifaut, who sold for a record-breaking €1.9m to Katsumi Yoshida in 2016.
