The catalogue for the Goffs January Sale at Doncaster, the first sale of the new year, is now online and features 179 lots including 93 National Hunt weanlings and youngstock, 46 mares and 40 horses in training

Taking place at the Goffs UK sales complex on January 21 from 10am, the sale starts with a horses in training section which includes an annual dispersal of nine lots from Coolmeen Farms. The session also include entries from Alan King, Anthony Honeyball, Charlie Johnston, Charlie Longsdon, Emma Lavelle, Fergal O'Brien, Nicky Henderson and Warren Greatrex.

The day will conclude with mares in foal to sires such as Crystal Ocean, Golden Horn, Jeu St Eloi, Order Of St George, Postponed, Stradivarius and Walk In The Park. Also entered are three mares who are eligible for the HBLB/TBA Elite Mares’ Scheme – dual Listed winner Coquelicot (170), Listed-placed Getaway Totherock (197) and Ificaniwill (202), dam of the dual Listed-winning hurdler Talking About You.

Among the seven lots from Distillery Stud is Listed winner Misty Whisky (163), a half-sister to the Grade 1-placed One For Rosie who has been covered by Golden Horn.

The weanling session includes a Blue Bresil colt out of the Listed-placed mare Ziggy Rose from the family of Grade 1 winner More Of That (79); a Nathaniel colt out of Listed winner Banjaxed Girl and half-brother to Grade 3 winner Le Milos (87); and a Golden Horn filly out of Walk In The Park mare Irene Goodnight, a half-sister to the top-class Santini (109).

Others include a Logician half-brother to Grade 2 winner Rapid Response (117); a Jeu St Eloi filly from the family of Grade 1 winner Ground Ball (118); and a Kapgarde colt out of Morena Du Berlais, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Nirvana Du Berlais (129).

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: “The January Sale is the UK and Ireland’s first physical sale of the year and it’s great to be able to offer another strong session of National Hunt weanlings and, with 43 eligible for the lucrative GBB bonus series, alongside a strong sire profile, there is plenty of incentive for buyers.

"We have also catalogued a decent number of National Hunt mares which features some highly attractive pedigrees, so there is loads in the sale for pinhookers and breeders alike. We will be taking supplementary entries up to the time of the sale and these will be placed online as they are entered."
