A-list fillies keep the ball rolling for Kirsten Rausing in Yorkshire Oaks
Alpinista and Albaflora had both already been second in the Group 1 race
Alpinista's stirring victory in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks enabled her owner-breeder Kirsten Rausing to correct what was already an impressive record with members of the family in the fillies' Group 1 on the Knavesmire.
While Alpinista had finished second in the same race in 2020, 12 months later it had been the turn of her close relative Albaflora, who chased home Snowfall and went on to be pipped by Eshaada in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.
Both are from Rausing's enduring Alruccaba family, the foundation mare bought with Sonia Rogers in 1985 who is descended from the great broodmare and 1920s sprinting champion Mumtaz Mahal.

Alouette, a daughter of Alruccaba, was actually second in the Galtres Stakes on this card back in 1993 and produced two wonder siblings for Rausing and Sir Mark Prescott in Alborada, a dual winner of the Champion Stakes, and Albanova, who took three German Group 1s on the bounce.
Albanova is Alpinista's granddam while Albaflora, who has entries later in the season, is a great-granddaughter of Alborada.
The grey Frankel five-year-old Alpinista has already placed herself in Rausing's hall of fame and would reach the very top were she to be successful in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
She is the first foal of the German Listed winner Alwilda, whose three-year-old by Kendargent named Alpenblume is three-from-three for Tim Donworth in France this year. She has a two-year-old son by Oasis Dream and had a filly by Iffraaj in January.
"It's a thrill to have such a filly, or mare as she is now, but Sir Mark and I have been working together for well over 30 years now so it's an old tried and tested combination," Rausing told ITV Racing.
"[Prescott] is a consummate horseman, he's an absolutely thorough professional and of course has tremendous experience. Nothing escapes his eagle eye and what else can I say than that he's a master trainer."
The earlier events on the card had provided an extension of the bounteous summer enjoyed by the Harper family's Whitsbury Manor Stud.
While its leading stallion Showcasing had a beaten hot favourite, Queen Mary winner Dramatised, in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes, he still came up with the 25-1 winner Swingalong from the same Karl Burke yard.
The filly had been bought at Tattersalls Book 2 for 120,00gns by Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock on behalf of Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum from Mountarmstrong Stud, which has a half-brother by Profitable engaged in the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.
She finished a neck in front of Queen Me who, extraordinarily, would have been the fourth in a row to win the same race following her mother, Queen Kindly, and second and third dams Lady Of The Desert and Queen's Logic.
Whitsbury Manor also bred the Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes scorer Shouldvebeenaring using its hotshot young sire Havana Grey. The grey was more than paying back the £40,000 he cost Middleham Park Racing when bought with Ross and Peter Doyle. A sister by Showcasing is engaged in Tattersalls Book 3.
