Top-class three-year-old Big Evs will head to Ireland to stand at Tally-Ho Stud in 2025 after his final start in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar next Saturday.

The son of Blue Point was sourced by Conor Quirke on behalf of Paul and Rachael Teasdale's RP Racing Ltd from breeze-up consignor Micky Cleere early last year, having been a 50,000gns purchase by Cleere from Houghton Bloodstock at Tattersalls Book 2.

Trained by Mick Appleby, he won on his second start as a juvenile when landing the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, while he was gritty in victory in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood. He bounced back from defeat in the Nunthorpe Stakes to win the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes and secured top-level success with victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Big Evs has returned as good as ever this season, defying a penalty in the Listed Westow Stakes and placing third in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. He claimed the scalp at that winner, Australian sprinter Asfoora, in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood in August.

The first son of the all-conquering Blue Point to retire to stud, Big Evs is out of an Oasis Dream daughter of champion Queen's Logic, whose daughter Lady Of The Desert and granddaughter Queen Kindly both won the Group 2 Lowther Stakes.

Roger O’Callaghan of Tally-Ho said: "We are delighted to be standing a horse with such pure speed and consistent class. He looked very special the day he won the Windsor Castle Stakes and his performances since have confirmed his place as an elite sprinter of recent years. Few horses have the pace to be able to challenge American sprinters on their home soil, and what he did in the Breeders’ Cup last year underlined his brilliance.

"We are very much looking forward to standing the first son of Blue Point and to supporting him strongly at stud."

Quirke added: "Big Evs is so much more than an electric speed machine. He has been bravely campaigned and always answered the call, showing a tremendous will to win on all types of ground. He was precocious, durable and sound throughout.

"By preeminent sire Blue Point from a deep champion's family, he should appeal to all corners of the market. He will always be the horse of a lifetime for all connected to him and we are excited to support him in every way as he embarks on his next chapter at one of Europe’s best stallion farms."

A fee for Big Evs will be announced at a later date.
