Newly formed Racing Social Club to host its first event at Leopardstown

The Racing Social Club will hold its inaugural event - the Racing Summer Social - in the Panoramic suite at Leopardstown racecourse on August 15.

The Racing Social Club is a group of young racing professionals who are committed to sharing their passion with others and encouraging new people into the sport. They aim to do so through experiences that grant behind-the-scenes access guided by leading industry professionals, while meeting like-minded people in an enjoyable social atmosphere.

The committee is led by RTE and ITV Racing presenter Sally Ann Grassick and includes Madeline Burns of Rathasker Stud, leading fashion expert Marietta Doran, trainers Sarah Lynam and Denis Hogan, journalists Thom Malone and Johnny Ward, bloodstock agent and breeder Cathy Grassick, Serena Stack of Stack Racing and breeder Mark Byrne.

The evening at Leopardstown offers the chance to watch the evening racing in a private suite and includes access to the All Saints concert being held after racing.

Tickets are priced at €50 per person with an early bird special of €45 for the first 50 tickets sold. The price also includes complimentary racecard, welcome drink, food, guided tours of the racetrack, a panel with racing professionals and a chance to win prizes as well as other surprises along the way. The evening is limited to 150 people.

Racing Social Club chairperson Sally Ann Grassick said: “We’re really looking forward to this exciting new way for people to experience racing. Our committee’s aim is to encourage new people to come racing and see first-hand what a wonderful sport it is.

"Racing is also a fantastic social occasion and a great way to network both for business and socially. This committee and the Racing Social Club was born out of a desire to unite all of these elements.

"We're all deeply involved with the thoroughbred racing industry and we see this as an ideal opportunity to meet new people and to introduce them to horse racing. We want to share some of our knowledge with people who would like to learn more.

"We're delighted with the support we've received for this initiative from Leopardstown and we look forward to a great evening of racing action and world-class entertainment from All Saints.”
