First foals on the ground for Grade 1 hero
Son of Danehill Dancer stands at Garryrichard Stud
The first foals by Canadian International hero Hillstar have been born.
Denis Hickey's Garryrichard Stud, which stands the son of Danehill Dancer, has welcomed a filly foal out of the Cadoudal mare Koral Bay, the dam of the useful hurdler and chaser The Skyfarmer.
Hickey described the filly as “a good, correct bay filly foal”.
A colt by Hillstar out of the Monsun mare Mausin, a relation to Authorized, was born at Corrin Stud and is described by the stud as “a grand, correct bay colt with lots of quality”.
A half-brother to high-class racemare Crystal Capella, Hillstar was trained by Sir Michael Stoute for Sir Evelyn de Rothschild to win four races including the King Edward VII Stakes and Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup.
His finest hour came when he defeated Big Blue Kitten to land the Canadian International at Woodbine.
He stands at Garryrichard Stud in County Wexford at a fee of €2,500.
Result from Hillstar's victory in the Woodbine International
