Newton's third law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You need look only at results from Tattersalls over the last two weeks to recognise that the old polymath was on to something.
After eight sessions running from Book 1 to Book 4, the October Yearling Sale concluded late on Friday evening with a simply sensational set of results. Turnover rose by 29 per cent year-on-year to break the 200 million guineas barrier for the first time.
Receipts totalling 204,561,700gns did not just represent a massive increase on 12 months ago, but that figure is also 5,236,600gns (2.6 per cent) more than the previous best set in 2022.
