Ballylinch's emerging young sire can build on a great 2021 says Aisling Crowe
The historic Ballylinch Stud is home to one of the most exciting and select stallion line-ups in Europe and if the start made to his stud career by New Bay is any indication of how the future will play out, the home of The Tetrarch will see its influence extend even further in the next few years.
New Bay's first two crops have announced the Classic-winning son of Dubawi as a real presence, though the signs were there to be read all along.
His success in one of Europe's most influential stallion-making races should have positioned him as an excellent prospect when he retired to Ballylinch in 2017. New Bay's predecessors as winner of the Prix du Jockey Club, since the distance was shortened, included Shamardal, Lope De Vega and Le Havre.
