Tom Peacock speaks to Spendthrift general manager Ned Toffey about a champion mare and her Breeders' Cup-bound daughter
It is supposed to be the job of a journalist to provide some relief from the incessant flashes of our screens with suitably descriptive words to replace those images.
When asked quite why there’s so much fuss about the Breeders’ Cup-bound Tamara, daughter of one of the meeting’s most celebrated participants in Beholder, Spendthrift Farm’s general manager Ned Toffey is adamant that the clearest evidence is on YouTube.
"If you go and watch Beholder’s Pacific Classic in 2015, then go and watch Tamara’s Del Mar Debutante; it’s eerie how similar they are," he says.
