Caravaggio
Sire Scat Daddy
Stands Ashford Stud
2021 stud fee $25,000
First-crop juveniles 155
Paddy Power odds 5-2
A precocious and talented son of the late Scat Daddy, Caravaggio will have 155 two-year-olds representing him this term. Unbeaten in four starts at two including the Coventry Stakes - defeating no less a rival than Mehmas - and the Phoenix Stakes, Caravaggio then defeated a field of top-class sprinters in the following season's Commonwealth Cup. Behind him that day was Harry Angel and Blue Point, both of whom would advertise the form admirably, while the winner added the Flying Five and a third in the British Champions Sprint Stakes to his CV. Caravaggio was rerouted to Coolmore's Ashford Stud late last year, while his yearlings sold for an average of £84,755 at auction in 2020.
