Too Darn Hot to stand for £50,000 as Darley announce full 2020 roster

Too Darn Hot is the highest new entry on the 35-strong Darley roster with last year’s champion juvenile starting duties at £50,000.

The colt joins a roll-call at the operation headed by his own sire Dubawi, who remains constant at £250,000 following 24 more individual Group winners in 2019 headed by Group 1 stars Coronet, Ghaiyyath and Old Persian.

Too Darn Hot was Dubawi’s other top-level scorer this year, landing the Prix Jean Prat and Sussex Stakes on his final two starts.

A strong fathers and sons theme is continued with the 2018 Investec Derby winner Masar – who will stand at Dalham Hall Stud alongside his sire New Approach at a fee of £15,000.

Three-time Royal Ascot Group 1 sprint hero, Blue Point, joins his sire Shamardal at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €45,000.

Shamardal, fresh from his best-ever year as a stallion through French 1,000 Guineas winner Castle Lady and Godolphin’s three unbeaten Group 1-winning juveniles – Earthlight, Victor Ludorum and Pinatubo, remains a private stallion in 2020.

Night Of Thunder, who has made a rapid start with his first juveniles, returns to Kildangan Stud and jumps from £15,000 in 2019 to €25,000 for 2020.

Golden Horn will stand for £40,000 (down from £50,000) while Farhh is up to £12,000 from £10,000 after a season which included King Of Change in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day.

"It's remarkable to reflect on how the stallion yards have grown over the decades here at Darley – when Dubai Millennium won at Nad Al Sheba in March 2000, the roster was just a dozen strong – and it's particularly satisfying for the whole team to be standing outstanding sons of stallions who have also stood their careers here.

"We couldn't do it without the breeders who invest so much time and skill in producing the horses who are at the heart of our great sport. We'll do all we can to help them fulfil their ambitions and hope to be part of their plans again in 2020."
