Slade Power to move to Haras des Fontaines for 2022 season
Top sprinter switched from Kildangan Stud this year
Group 1 sprinter Slade Power is heading to Thierry Abadie's Haras des Fontaines near Pau in south-western France for the 2022 breeding season, where he will stand for a fee of €2,000.
Bred and owned by the Power family, the son of Dutch Art was trained by Eddie Lynam to a fruitful career which culminated with victory in both the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and the July Cup as five-year-old.
Slade Power spent his first six seasons as a stallion at Kildangan Stud but made the move to France for 2021, standing at Haras de Tierce.
Raffle Prize, who won both the Queen Mary Stakes and the Duchess Of Cambridge in 2019, has been his best representative so far, while Master Matt landed the Listed Abergwaun Stakes at Tipperary in August.
His maternal family was given a big boost this year by the victory of Ebro River in the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes.
