Scat Daddy's stallion son El Kabeir set for stint in Italy
Morpheus is another new recruit for 2023
Italy will welcome several interesting new stallions to its ranks in 2023 with Scat Daddy's son El Kabeir set to join Frankel’s brother Morpheus in the country.
Renew Italian Breeding, an organisation involving industry figures Mattia Cadrobbi, Marco Bozzi and Guido Berardelli, announced via its Facebook page on Sunday that the grey El Kabeir was due to arrive, with his fee and location yet to be revealed.
A multiple Graded winner in America, El Kabeir has spent the last five years at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland with Group 2 Rome Gran Criterium winner Don Chicco among his four stakes scorers.
It has also been announced that Morpheus will stand at the Scuderia Melissa Cipriani - Allevamenti della Berardenga at a fee of €3,500. An Oasis Dream half-sibling to the supreme champion who won three times for Lady Cecil, the 12-year-old has been standing in both Ireland and France.
Ruler Of The World, the Derby winner and Group 1 sire of Iridessa and La Petite Coco, remains at the same stud for a second year and is priced at €5,000.
