Kodiac son Koropick on the move to Hedgeholme Stud
Smart sprinter stood at Annshoon Stud this year
Hedgeholme Stud in County Durham is welcoming the Group 3-winning sprinter Koropick to its roster for next year's breeding season.
The four-year-old is a son of the commercially popular Kodiac, who smashed the record for number of juvenile winners in a single crop in 2017, notching 61 by the end of December, and has supplied dual Group 1 hero Best Solution this year.
Koropick was trained by Hugo Palmer for Ibrahim Araci and he won easily on debut and finished second to The Last Lion in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes on his second start at two.
His finest hour came at three, when he landed the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle.
Canice Farrell bred Koropick out of the Fayruz mare Kathoe, a relation to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Jaazeiro and champion two-year-old filly and Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Woodstream.
Koropick spent his first season at Annshoon Stud in County Kilkenny this year and WLS Bloodstock has been instrumental in moving him to Britain.
Hedgeholme Stud owner Andrew Spalding said: “He's a good-looking horse, standing nearly 16.2 hands and is very well put together.
“We're going to stand him at a fee of £2,250, October 1 terms.”
