First foal Aloa gets Cracksman off the mark on the track in Italy

European champion Cracksman has been enjoying a decent weekend, siring the first and winners of his stallion career across the continent.
The breakthrough came in Italy on Saturday through debutant Aloa. The January-born filly was actually also the first foal to be born by Cracksman and was sold by the Barnett family through Newsells Park Stud for 47,000gns to Valfredo Valiani at Tattersalls Book 2.
Aloa, who took a newcomers' event by two and a quarter lengths over seven furlongs in Milan, is out of a winning sister to the Irish 1,000 Guineas scorer Just The Judge.
Cracksman had fielded two other runners before this, with Lahina Bay placing on debut at Lingfield and Petra also making the frame in Spain. The latter was to enjoy a facile victory on her next start in Madrid on Sunday.
He has a reported 128 foals from his first crop from Dalham Hall Stud, from where he is standing for £17,500 this year.
The dual Champion Stakes winner, owned and bred by the Oppenheimer family, is the highest profile son of Frankel to have been sent to stud to date.
