The Aga Khan Studs welcomed a Frankel filly out of their champion mare Zarkava on April 14 and have shared footage of the brilliantly bred newborn foal for fans to enjoy.

Zarkava, a 15-year-old daughter of Zamindar, was unbeaten in seven starts for Alain de Royer-Dupre, including in the Prix Marcel Boussac at two and the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, Prix de Diane and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at three.

Zarkava has also excelled at paddocks as the dam of three winners, including her latest foal's full-sister Zarkamiya, a Listed winner and Prix Vermeille third who has this year delivered her first foal, a filly by Medaglia D'Oro.

Zarkava is also the dam of Zarak, a son of Dubawi who won the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and ran second in the Prix du Jockey Club.

Zarak is standing at Haras de Bonneval in Normandy for his third season, so has first yearlings on the ground. He is due to cover a full book of mares as per the last two years.

Zarkava has a three-year-old filly by Siyouni named Zaykava, a two-year-old colt by Sea The Stars and a yearling filly by Dubawi.

She is due to visit Siyouni again this year.
