Eleven Sports, 7pm Thursday

VVV’s scoring problems have been evident all season and especially against the big clubs, but that doesn’t mean they will necessarily be on the wrong end of a hiding at The Tub.

Maurice Steijn’s side have been beaten 1-0 by Ajax and 4-0 by PSV in a season that was otherwise going well – until Sunday’s 4-1 battering at Heracles.

They are a more-than-satisfactory seventh in the Eredivisie with a Europa League place as an aspiration and would be even better placed if they had a goal threat. Just 17 goals in 13 matches in a competition not short of goals shows where their issues are.

Top scorer, Togo’s former Gladbach frontman Peni Mlapa, has got five in his last five.

VVV are well aware of Feyenoord’s strength at home – their only defeat at their home ground in the last 14 months was against PSV. They’ve won all seven home matches this term.

One of the few home games they didn’t win last season was against VVV – a 1-1 draw. Indeed, the Venlo outfit took four points off them last term.

The visitors are defensively astute enough to suggest they won’t get blown away.

Recommendation
Feyenoord & under 3.5 goals
1pt 5-4 Betway
