'Racing spends a lot of time talking to itself in a bubble - we're not blessed with people who inhabit the wider world'
Rod Street talks to Chris Cook after stepping away from his role as head of the sport's marketing arm
Rod Street: after 30 years in the sport, the chief executive of Great British Racing is now moving on
Rod Street is still in shock. Our interview takes place a couple of hours after he stepped out of a hotel in Victoria and saw a member of the Household Cavalry being unseated while trying to catch loose horses careering through London.
"It happened in front of my very eyes," says Street, who was among the first to offer assistance.
Thankfully, all horses and soldiers are said to be making a good recovery.
